I got a call from a bartender friend asking me to fill in for him for an evening. When I arrived at the club my friend gave me instructions for the evening, and as he was getting ready to leave me behind the bar he informs me that tonight's the night that we have our deaf crowd. He explains to me all of the hand signals that they use for ordering their drinks and then he leaves. All is going well with the hand signals until about 11pm when I start noticing about three tables in the back corner giving me signals that I wasn't familiar with. By 11:30 there's 100 people around the bar giving these signals that I couldn't understand and now I'm getting nervous. Now it's close to midnight and my friend comes back to close and we've got 200 deaf people all using these odd hand signals. I turn to him and said I think they're trying to order some drink that I'm not familiar with when he says, "you idiot, they're not ordering, you got them drunk and they're singing! Now they'll never leave"!
